Equities bounce back

The MSE Total Return Index regained yesterday’s loss as it ended today’s session 0.7% higher at 9,861.447 points. A total turnover of €237,117.57 was generated in the equities market, as 44 deals were executed. Active equities amounted to 15, of which five headed north while another five ended the session in negative territory.
 
In the banking sector, ten trades of 55,000 Bank of Valletta plc shares, dragged the price down to €1.055.
 
Its peer HSBC Bank Malta plc closed in the green as one trade of 2,000 shares pushed the price 2% higher to €1.53. 
GO plc traded flat at €4.56 over a couple of deals of 2,000 shares. 
 
Meanwhile, its spin off company, BMIT Technologies plc traded three times pushing the price upwards by a margin of 1.92%.
 
On the other hand two trades of 5,600 RS2 Software plc shares had a negative effect on its share price, as it was down to €1.95.
 
A single trade of 1,000 Malta International Airport plc shares resulted in a 1.33% increase in the company’s share price to €7.60.
 
International Hotel Investments plc also closed in the green, as its share price was up 3.95% to close at €0.79.
 
Following suit was Malta Properties Company plc as its share price also increased by 1.49% to end the session at €0.68.
 
On the other end of the spectrum, MIDI plc’s price closed 0.69% lower to €0.715 as a result of 11,600 shares.
Plaza Centre plc closed the session unchanged at €0.99, translating to a 1% price cut. Traded volume amounted to 55,000 shares over five deals.
 
Malita Investments plc lost 1.18% spread across seven trades thus reducing the price to €0.84.
In the same sector, a sole deal of 1,800 Main Shopping Complex plc shares had no bearing on the share price of €0.61. Trident Estates plc also closed unchanged at €1.92 over a couple of deals.
 
Elsewhere, PG plc and Santumas Shareholding plc also closed unchanged at €1.65 and €1.64 respectively. 
 
In the Corporate Debt Market, 21 issues were active, of which 10 registered gains while four declined. The new entry of 3.65% Stivala Group Finance plc Secured € 2029 headed the list of gainers as it closed 2% higher at €102.
 
In the Sovereign Debt Market, out of 17 active issues, of which 15 registered gains and two recorded declines. The long dated 2.5% MGS 2039 registered the largest gain by 1.49% to €129.00.
