Finance / Accounting Officer

Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Limited, a company licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority and a member of the Malta Stock Exchange is seeking to enhance its team of professional personnel.

The Role

The selected candidate will work in a team and be responsible for managing day-to-day finance operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting the Head of Finance.

The responsibilities include:

  • Manage book-keeping transactions in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for accuracy
  • Process client investment and income payments, as well as supplier & other payments
  • Review fees due to the Company
  • Ensure accurate and timely system entries
  • Liaising with third-party service providers, such as banks and fund administration companies
  • Support the preparation of financial reports and management accounts
  • Address financial inquiries from internal teams and external parties
  • Coordinate team tasks and prioritise workloads

About You

We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic individual with the ability to prioritise and work effectively under pressure, with a hands-on approach to work and ‘can do’ attitude. You must also be a committed team player, meticulous and enthusiastic with a strong commitment to client service excellence.

Education & Experience

  • Previous accounting/finance experience is required
  • Accounting diploma or currently pursuing ACCA certification or equivalent
  • Experience within a financial services firm will be considered an asset (but not a must-have)

Job Requirements

  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel
  • An adaptive team player who’s highly organised, meticulous and attentive to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong organisational abilities
  • Fluent written and spoken English
