The MSE Index closed the week 1.50% lower, declining from 5,120.61 at the close of last week to 5,043.728. BOV increased by 0c3 over the last two trading sessions to close at Lm3.653 while Middlesea had gained 0c1 in Tuesday’s session. –
The decreases of HSBC and Maltacom share prices by 2.84% each, was the main reason that led to a fall in the Index on a week-on-week basis. Pre-tax profits were lower than last years for the same period, while the interim dividend proposed was 1c5 per share; this also lower than last year’s dividend of 2c per share.
