Local Weekly Round Up — 13th — 20th October 2006

The MSE Index closed 0.58% higher this week to end at 5,131.555 points. 14 equities traded, 7 of which were gainers, 5 were losers while the other equities remained stable. There were high activity this week with 345 deals being placed in the equity market, for a total value of Lm951,685.

GlobalCapital headed upwards by 8.25% as it gained 4c on Monday, 12c on Wednesday and 3c on Thursday only to trim such gains by 2c in the final session of the week. Lombard closed up by 3.44% while even HSBC ended in positive territory, an increase of 2.41% on a week-on-week basis,

The other gainers of the week were Datatrak which surged by 19.23% and Middlesea Insurance which gained 2.54%. Plaza also registered a mere gain of 0.59% as well as San Tumas which rose by 4.54%.

On the other hand, the worst performer of the week was Suncrest which dropped by 7.93%. Maltacom fell by 4.06% and IHI by 1.03% while BOV registered a minor drop of 0.25%.

In the mean time, the Board of Directors of BOV announced that it scheduled to meet on Friday 27th October 2006 to consider and approve the Group’s and the Bank’s Audited Financial Statements for the financial year ended 30th September 2006, and also to consider the declaration of final dividend to be recommended to the Bank’s Annual General Meeting.

IHI plc also announced that the Board of Directors will be meeting on Wednesday, 25th October 2006 to approve the Financial Statements for the period ending 30th June 2006.
