MSE Daily Trading Report, 28 November, 2019

The MSE Equity Total Return Index declined by a further 0.168% to closed at 9,672.541 points. Six equities were active, of which one headed north while another two traded lower. A total turnover of €41,560 was generated over 14 deals.

In the banking sector, HSBC Bank Malta plc headed the list of fallers with a further 2.44% decline to €1.20. This was the result of six deals involving 15,262 shares. A total turnover of €18,387 was recorded.

Bank of Valletta plc was also active over a single deal involving 2,043 shares. The previous closing price of €1.08 was not impacted and a total turnover of €2,206 was generated.

The only gainer was RS2 Software plc as it closed 0.93% higher at €2.16. The equity was active over a single deal on slim volume.

A sole deal of 3,600 MIDI plc shares pushed the price 0.77% lower to €0.645. Total turnover stood at €2,322.

Despite being traded twice, Malta International Airport plc shares closed unchanged at €7.15. Similarly, BMIT Technologies plc was also active as three deals involving 28,700 shares were executed. A total turnover of €14,637 was recorded and price was left unaltered at €0.51.

In the corporate debt market, out of 18 active issues, six traded higher while another 11 declined. The 5% GlobalCapital plc Unsecured € 2021 headed the list of gainers with a 2.62% increase to €0.98. On the other hand, the largest decline in price was recorded by the 4.25% Mercury Projects Finance plc Secured € 2031 as it closed at €95.50. This translates into a negative 4.40% change in price.

In the sovereign debt market, seven issues were active, of which three advanced while the rest lost ground. The best performer was the 2.4% MGS 2041 (I) as it closed 0.12% higher at €129.99.
