MSE Daily Trading Report, 12 May 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index extended its negative performance by closing 0.084% lower to end the session at 8,301.507 points. Seven equities were traded three closed in the red while two traded higher. A total turnover of €234,606 was registered spread across 41 deals.

Partially regaining yesterday’s loss was Malta International Airport plc. Eleven transactions appreciated the price back up by 1.25% to end the session at €4.86. Total turnover stood at €71,122.

In the banking industry, HSBC Bank Malta plc gained a marginal 1% as it closed at €1.01. A single trade of seven shares was executed. On the other hand, Bank of Valletta plc traded nine times in today’s session – resulting to a decrease of 0.95% to close at €1.04.

A total of 12 deals involving 63,395 RS2 Software plc shares were executed. The equity registered the highest liquidity of €120,821 but the price declined by 1.5% to €1.97.

Malita Investments plc traded three times over a mix of 15,500 shares. As a result, the equity recorded a decrease in the price of 1.11% – to close at €0.89.

Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and International Hotel Investments plc both closed flat at €8.30 and €0.59, respectively.

In the Sovereign Debt market, there were only three active bonds. All of which declined – the 7% MGS 2024 (II) R registered the highest loss as it closed 9% lower at €140.20

In the Corporate Debt market, out of 22 active issues, 10 gainers and two lost ground. The 6% Medserv plc Sec. & Grntd €  Notes 2020-2023 S1 T1 headed the list of gainers as it closed 2.06% higher at €99.00. On the other hand, the 5.75% International Hotel Investments plc Unsecured € 2025 lost 1.74%, ending the session at €99.00.

In the Prospects Market MTF there were only three active bonds – 2 closed in the red while one closed flat. The 5% JD Capital plc Unsecured € Bonds 2028 issuance registered the highest loss of 0.61%, to close the session at €98.
