MSE Daily Trading Report, 18 May 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index gained ground as it closed 0.399% higher at 8,201.926 points. Five equities were active, of which three advanced while the remaining two closed unchanged. A total turnover of €67,586 was generated across 21 transactions.

The top performer was Malta International Airport plc as it registered a 2.04% increase in price, reaching the €5.00 price level. The equity was also the most liquid as total turnover stood at €52,165. A total of 10,594 shares were spread over 14 deals.

A sole deal of 1,800 PG plc shares resulted into a positive 1.08% change in price. The equity closed at €1.87 while total turnover amounted to €3,366.

Similarly, RS2 Software plc was up by 1.52% as it ended the session at €2.00. Three deals involving 1,292 shares were executed, worth €2,564.

International Hotel Investments plc traded twice over a mix of 11,370 shares, leaving no impact on the previous closing price of €0.57. A total turnover of €6,488 was recorded.

One transaction of 364 Simonds Farsons Cisk plc did not alter the equity’s previous closing price of €8.25. Total turnover stood at €3,003.

In the Sovereign Debt market, all three active issues headed north as yields declined. The 2.1% MGS 2039 (I) registered the best performance with a 0.79% increase, to close at €129.00.

In the Corporate Debt market, 17 issues were active, of which three registered gains while another five lost ground. The 3.75% Bortex Group Finance plc Unsecured € 2027 headed the list of gainers as it closed 1.49% higher at €102.00. On the other hand, the 3.75% AX Group plc Unsec Bds 2029 Series II lost 2.18%, ending the session at €100.75.

In the Prospects MTF market, the 5% Smartcare Finance plc Secured € 2029 was active but closed unchanged at par.
