Higher MSE Index as MIA heads north
MSE Daily Trading Report, 25 May 2020
The MSE Equity Total Return Index recouped part of its previous loss as it closed 0.202% higher at 7,953.656 points. Four equities were active, of which gainers and losers tallied to one apiece. A total turnover of €41,140 was generated across 10 transactions.
Malta International Airport plc was the only positive performer as it closed 3.24% higher, reaching the €5.10 price level. Three deals involving 5,000 shares were executed, generated a total turnover of €25,487.
A sole deal of 1,000 Bank of Valletta plc shares did not alter the previous closing price of €1.04. A total turnover of €1,040 was recorded.
Tigne’ Mall plc ended the session on a negative note with a 10.59% fallin price. A total of 5,500 shares were spread over two deals, worth €4,180. The equity ended the session at €0.76.
Meanwhile, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc was active but closed unchanged at €8.30. A total turnover of €10,433 was generated as 1,257 shares changed hands across four transactions.
In the Sovereign Debt market, eight issues were active, of which four headed north while another two closed in the opposite direction. The 5% MGS 2021(I) headed the list of gainers as it closed 1.33% higher at €107.39. On the other hand, the 4.45% MGS 2032 (II) lost 4.41%, ending the session at €141.00.
In the Corporate Debt market, out of 16 active issues, three advanced while another four lost ground. The best performer was the 5.75% International Hotel Investments plc Unsecured € 2025 as it closed 0.5% higher, to reach its par value. Conversely, the 3.75% Mercury Projects Finance plc Secured € 2027 traded 1.9% lower, to close at €98.00.
In the Prospects MTF market, no trading activity was recorded.
