MIA, RS2 & PG push MSE Index higher

The MSE Equity Total Return Index returned to positive territory as it closed 0.077% higher at 8,182.215 points. Nine equities were active, of which three headed north while another four closed in the opposite direction. A total turnover of €293,403 was generated across 51 transactions.
In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc lost 0.49% as it reached the €1.015 price level. Five deals involving 12,317 shares were executed, worth €12,508.
Similarly, FIMBank plc was down by 5% as a single trade of 11,534 shares dragged the price to €0.38. A total turnover of €3,943 was recorded.
Meanwhile, its peer, HSBC Bank Malta plc, was active but closed unchanged at €0.99. The bank traded four times over a mix of 4,090 shares. Total turnover amounted to €3,865.
Malta International Airport plc generated a total turnover of €36,771 as 6,187 shares changed hands over 14 deals. During the session, the equity reached a high price of €6.00 but closed at €5.95 – translating into a 1.71% increase.
The top performer was PG plc as a sole deal of 200 shares pushed the price 2.56% higher to €2.00.
RS2 Software plc registered the highest liquidity as total turnover stood at €164,170. The price was up by 1.53% to €1.99 as 83,480 shares changed ownership across 14 transactions.
Telecommunications company, GO plc, declined by 0.56% as four deals involving 2,338 shares were executed. Total turnover amounted to €8,426. Its subsidiary, BMIT Technologies plc also ended the session on a negative note with a 1.67% fall in price. The equity closed at €0.47 and generated a total turnover of €24,394. This was the result of 51,100 shares spread over four deals.
Elsewhere, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc was active but closed unchanged at €8.00. Four deals involving 4,920 shares were executed, worth €38,925.
In the Sovereign Debt market, out of four active issues, the 4.3% MGS 2033 (I) advanced by 0.86% to €141.20 while another two closed in the red. The 5% MGS 2021(I) headed the list of fallers with a 1.44% decline, as it closed at €105.84.
In the Corporate Debt market, 19 issues were active, of which seven traded higher while three declined. The 3.5% Bank of Valletta plc € Notes 2030 S2 T1 was the best performer as it closed 2.55% higher at €99.99. Conversely, the 4% International Hotel Investments plc Unsecured € 2026 lost 4.9%, ending the session at €95.00.
In the Prospects MTF market, three issues were active, of which two registered gains while the other one closed unchanged. The 5% Busy Bee Finance Company plc Unsecured € 2029 was the most liquid as total turnover amounted to €15,075. The bond closed 0.3% higher at €100.50.
