MSE Daily Trading Report, 17 August 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index performance inclined by 0.022% to end the session at 7,574.444 points. Only eight trades were recorded today which were spread across four equities – two declined, one closed in the green while Malta International Airport plc closed unchanged. These transactions accumulated a total market value of €25,560.

In the banking sector, Bank of Valletta plc traded once – 2,616 shares were exchanged which resulted to a decline of 0.42% to close at €0.94. On the other hand, two deals involving 4,000  HSBC Bank Malta plc shares increased the price by 2.42% into the green. The equity generated a total turnover of €3,380 as the price reached the €0.845 price level.

Registering a 7.41% loss was Malta Properties Company plc – four transactions of 38,400 shares closed declined the price to 0.50.

In the Corporate Debt market, a total of 10 issues were active during the session of which one closed in the red, one traded flat and the rest closed higher. The 5.1% 1923 Investments plc Unsecured € 2024 issuance registered the highest gain of 5.26% to close at the price level of €100.00.

In the Sovereign Bond market, a total of seven bonds were active of which four closed in the red and two bonds gained ground. The 2.4% MGS 2041 (I) registered the largest decline during the session as it closed 1.1% lower at €14.50.

There was no activity in the Prospects MTF market.
