BOV publish annual results

  • The best performers were RS2 Software plc (+2.3%), PG plc (+2%) and MaltaPost plc (+1.7%).
  • The worst performers were Harvest Technology plc (-5.7%) and Bank of Valletta plc (-5.2%).
  • BMIT Technologies plc was the most liquid as it generated a total turnover of €57,770. Eight deals involving 109,000 shares were executed.

 

  • Bank of Valletta plc approved the audited financial statements for financial year ended December 31, 2020. The Board resolved that these audited financial statements be submitted for the approval of the shareholders at the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held on May 20, 2021.
    • Reported profit before tax of €15.2 million was recorded, versus the previous year’s figure of €89.2 million.
    • The total assets of the Group reached €12.9 billion as at December 2020 – an increase of 5% over the previous year.
    • The CET 1 ratio increased from 19.5% to 20.9%, and the total capital ratio improved from 23.1% to 24.5% as at end of December 2020.
    • In line with the regulators’ recommendation, the Board has responsibly decided not to declare distribution of dividends for year 2020.

  • Main Street Complex plc announced that since the implementation, earlier this month, of measures aimed at curbing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, all tenants of the Main Street Complex are obliged to remain closed for business until April 11, 2021.
    • Cognizant of the Company’s responsibility towards the community, the Board of Directors and management remain committed towards the Company doing its part in limiting the spread of the
      pandemic and safeguarding the general public’s wellbeing, while also recognising and easing the financial hardships being experienced by its tenants.
    • In view of the prevailing circumstances, the Board of Directors expects the current situation to result in a disruption in the Company’s expected revenues for the current period.
