MSE Trading Report for Week ending 7 August 2026
| Movement in Equity and Bond Indices: |
The MSE Equity Total Return Index ended the week in positive territory, closing 1.2% higher at 10,107.460 points. A total of 21 equities were active, as seven headed north while another seven closed in the opposite direction. The total weekly turnover stood at €1.2m across 244 transactions.
The MSE Corporate Bonds Total Return Index closed 0.4% higher at 1,169.117 points. A total of 81 issues were active, 39 of which traded higher while another 17 lost ground. The 4% Shoreline Mall plc Secured € 2026 was the best performer, as it closed 39.7% higher at €97.80. On the other hand, the 3.75% Premier Capital plc Unsecured € 2026 ended the week 1.7% lower at €98.07.
The MSE MGS Total Return Index posted a 0.5% gain, as it reached 972.830 points. Out of 24 active issues, 17 advanced while another six closed in the red. The 3.50% MGS 2034 headed the list of gainers, as it closed at €100.49, equivalent to an increase of 2.1%. Conversely, the 2.1% MGS 2039 closed 1% lower at €80.84.

Bank of Valletta plc saw a slight drop by 0.5% to close at €2.16, having dipped to a low of €2.14. This equity was the most liquid with 178,701 shares being executed, recording the largest turnover of €389,230.
HSBC Bank Malta plc climbed 2.1% higher to close at its weekly high of €1.46. During the week, 73,911 shares changed hands across 26 transactions, worth €106,974.
APS Bank plc ended the week 1.7% higher at €0.59, from a low of €0.56 earlier on Monday. A total of 21 transactions across 359,775 shares were executed, amounting to €209,743 in value.
Malta International Airport plc advanced 1.6% to close at its weekly high of €6.35, recovering from a low of €6.20. A combined 34,306 shares changed hands across 40 deals, with €214,893 recorded in turnover.
GO plc edged 1.6% higher over the week, settling at €2.54 after bouncing back from a low of €2.48. The equity saw 54,662 shares dealt across 24 transactions, worth €137,705.
Among the week’s decliners, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc shed 1.8% to close at €5.60, having reached a high of €5.70 on Monday. A total of 3,191 shares were transacted across six deals worth €17,887.
A positive week was registered for International Hotel Investments plc, where the equity increased by 0.9% to close at €0.59 after dipping to a low of €0.545. Seven deals were recorded across 5,097 shares worth €2,833.
PG plc advanced by 0.7% to close at €1.56. A total of four transactions across 27,037 shares were executed, bringing total turnover to €42,076.
BMIT Technologies plc slipped 1.6% to close at €0.25. The technology equity saw 40,089 shares dealt across five transactions, amounting to €10,089 in turnover.
The Convenience Shop Holding plc gained 1.7% over the week, closing at its weekly high of €0.88 after touching a low of €0.705 yesterday. A combined 61,911 shares moved across 23 deals, generating a total turnover of €46,564.

APS Bank plc has announced a share buy-back programme, authorising the Bank to buy back up to 5m ordinary shares at a price ranging from €0.45 to €0.75 per share. The programme will run until August 6, 2027, or until the conclusion of the Bank’s 2027 AGM. The bank also announced a collaboration with Nexi S.p.A., one of Europe’s leading PayTech companies, through the rollout of the Cashere ATM network across Malta and Gozo.
BMIT Technologies plc has announced that for H1 2026, the Group registered revenue of €20.2m, up 10.3% from €18.3m (H1 2025), driven mainly by continued growth in Data Centre & Managed IT Services. Profit after tax fell to €1.7m from €1.9m, for earnings of €0.008 per share. A net dividend of €0.018 per share in respect of the previous year, was paid on June 9, 2026, with shareholders offered the option of cash or new shares under a scrip dividend at an attribution price of €0.270 per share.
HSBC Bank Malta plc has announced that for H1 2026, the Group registered net interest income of €85.6m, down from €89.8m in 2025, reflecting a lower interest rate environment. Profit after tax fell to €28.7m from €38.3m, for earnings of €0.08 per share. The Board is proposing a net dividend of €10m in respect of the period ended June 30, 2026, payable on September 23, 2026.
Plaza Centres plc has announced that for H1 2026, the Company registered revenue of €1.5m. Profit after tax fell to €0.5m from €0.7m, a decline of 25.3%. The Board declared an interim net dividend of €250,000, equivalent to €0.0098 per share. Separately, the Company’s €4.9m 3.9% unsecured bonds maturing on September 22, 2026 will be refinanced ahead of the redemption date. The share buy-back programme of up to 2.4m shares at €0.75 to €0.95 per share, is expected to commence this month.
GO plc has announced that for the six months ended June 30, 2026, the Group registered revenue of €134.7m, up 9% from €123.9m in the corresponding period, driven by strong performance across all three operating segments. Profit after tax fell to €10.4m from €11.5m, for earnings of €0.102 per share down from €0.111 in 2025. The Board resolved to distribute an interim net dividend of €0.07 per share, payable on October 6, 2026.
