Fund Operations Officer
Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Limited (JMFA), a company licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority, is seeking to enhance its team of professional personnel.
JMFA is the appointed investment manager of Merill SICAV plc, and we are currently looking to recruit a full-time Fund Operations Officer to oversee and manage all operational matters of the collective investment scheme.
Merill SICAV plc is a multi-fund public limited liability investment company with variable share capital (SICAV), licensed as a collective investment scheme by the MFSA. It is structured as an open-ended, self-managed collective investment scheme and qualifies as a ‘Maltese UCITS’ under the UCITS Regulations and Directive.
Role Overview – Fund Operations Officer
The successful candidate will be actively involved in all operational aspects of Merill’s fund structures, including payments, settlements, reconciliations, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. This is a dynamic role that offers exposure to a wide range of financial and administrative processes.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Fund Operations Officer will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and reconciling Merill income payments, securities, and subscription accounts
- Processing income and client distribution payments
- Managing Merill management fees and foreign commissions
- Maintaining and updating derivatives and securities accounts
- Coordinating and processing MSE trade settlements
- Booking and posting conversions with the fund’s custodian
- Processing and settling invoices
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Co-ordinating audit preparation, financial reporting and AGM logistics
- Liaising with tax recovery teams for withheld tax matters
- Executing daily share class hedging
- Compiling quarterly fund commentary
- Maintaining and updating the Merill website
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an investment middle office or administrative role
- A degree in investment, finance, or a related field
- Highly organised with strong time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure when required
- Experience in fund administration will be considered an asset
