Jesmond Mizzi Financial Services Limited has launched the Kapital Garantit Plus, a five year Certificate. The Certificate is issued by BNP Paribas Arbitrage Issuance BV and BNP Paribas SA as Guarantor and provides capital protection if held until maturity. The objective of the Certificates issued by BNP Paribas Arbitrage Issuance B.V. is to offer capital growth over a period of 5 years by participating in the performance of a weighted basket of two Asian Indices, namely Nikkei and Taiwan indices and a mutual fund, the Baring Hong Kong China Fund. If the investment is held till the redemption date, the investment provides return of the capital invested plus the higher of a) a minimum return of 10% of the capital invested or b) 100% participation on the average performance (arithmetic average) of the basket components.

The Chairman of the company, Jesmond Mizzi stated that, the Certificates are aimed at cautious investors who intend to hold their Certificates until the redemption date with a minimum return of 10% but also giving investors the potential to participate in the performance of emerging markets which can offer attractive returns over the long term without any risk to the capital invested.

Investors should note that the minimum guaranteed return of one’s investment only applies if the investment is held until the redemption date. Early redemption of the Certificates if due to an Extraordinary Fund Event or any re-sale of the Certificates on the secondary market may attract losses and investors should note that they may lose part of the principal amount invested.
