6PM shares traded on the stock exchange for the first time

The MSE Index lost 5 points to close at 4,863.84. Six equities were active during the session with HSBC and BOV shares edging lower for the second successive day. 6PM shares were traded for the first time on the local stock exchange to close unchanged. Maltacom, Plaza and FIMBank shares were also active however none registered any price changes.

In the equity market a total of 28 deals were executed for a total turnover of Lm66,878, while 5 Malta Government Stocks were active and registered a total trade value of Lm39,171. In addition, 2 local corporate bonds were transacted for a value of Lm3,200, while a single deal for a value of Lm246,710 was performed in the 273 day Treasury Bill maturing on 11.01.08.

6PM had a volume of 3,000 shares traded across 2 deals to close unchanged at Lm0.67. One of the deals was executed at Lm0.68 (daily high).

HSBC Bank Malta shares shed 0c5 on a volume of 7,910 shares to close at Lm1.905.

Bank of Valletta shares ended the day marginally lower (0c2) to close at Lm3.601 as 12,130 shares changed hands across 12 deals.

FIMBank shares closed unchanged at US$1.94 on a volume of 7,399 shares.

Local large cap Maltacom registered 2 deals totalling 905 shares, to also close unchanged at Lm1.40.

A deal of 400 shares was executed in Plaza Centres to close stable at Lm0.74.

In the local bond market:

The 6% Dolmen Bond and 6.75% UFC Bond both close unchanged at Lm100.

5 MGSs were traded four of which declined in their prices while one stock (5.4% MGS 2010) moved slightly higher.
