MSE Index remains relatively unchanged

The MSE Equity Total Return Index gained a marginal 0.011% to close the session at 9,830.792 points. A total of 14 equities were active of which gainers and losers tallied to five a piece. A total turnover of €266,152 was generated between 42 transactions.

All banking equites were active during the session, with three of the four banks posting a decline. Lombard Bank Malta plc posted the largest decline with a decrease of 2.6% over a single deal of 1,000 shares, to close at €2.22. HSBC Bank Malta plc and Bank of Valletta plc followed suit closing 1.33% and 0.88% lower at €1.48 and €1.13 respectively.

FIMBank plc shares outperformed its peers, with the equity registering a gain of 1.56% to close at $0.65. A total of 9,876 shares were exchanged over two transactions. Meanwhile, insurance company Mapfre Middlesea plc closed flat at €2.14 after trading at a daily high of €2.18. Three deals worth €8,570 were recorded.

MIDI plc and Malta Properties Company plc registered the largest gains during the session with the latter gaining 5.26% to close at €0.70. Meanwhile MIDI shares increased by 4.1% to close at €0.635. Tigne Mall plc traded flat at €0.90 as two deals worth €90,000 were executed. The equity was the most liquid during today’s session.

Telecommunication firm, GO plc closed in the red by 0.45% at €4.40. A total turnover of €37,600 was generated between six transactions.

On the other hand, BMIT Technologies plc closed 1.92% higher at €0.53. A total turnover of €30,209 was generated between seven deals.

Similarly, retail-conglomerate PG plc added on 3.61% to its share price to close the session at a new all-time high of €1.72. A total turnover of €42,087 was generated between five deals.

Elsewhere, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, RS2 Software plc and Main Street Complex plc were all active but closed unchanged.

In the Corporate Debt Market, 17 issues were active, of which six advanced while six registered a loss. The best performer was the 3.8% Hili Finance Company plc Unsecured € 2029 as it closed 0.9% higher at €101.

In the Sovereign Debt Market, all 15 active issues closed lower. The 2.4% MGS 2041 (I) headed the list of fallers with a 1.13% decrease in price to €131.05.
