MSE Index on a four-day losing streak
MSE Daily Trading Report, 29 November, 2019
The MSE Equity Total Return Index extended its negative trend to four days as it declined by 0.611% to close at 9,613.402 points. Five equities were active, of which four lost ground while the other one closed unchanged. A total turnover of € 91,489 was generated over 24 deals.
Bank of Valletta plc registered a decline of 1.85% to close at €1.06. The equity registered the highest turnover during the session of € 44,377 over 14 transactions involving 41,412 shares.
Its peer, HSBC Bank Malta plc was also active but closed unchanged at €1.20. The bank traded twice on slim volume.
Trident Estates plc registered the largest decline during the session of 6.78% to €1.65. A total turnover of €27,737 was generated as 16,750 shares changed hands over three deals.
In the telecommunications sector, GO plc also closed in negative territory as it closed 1.88% lower at €4.18. A spread of 2,375 shares changed hands across three transactions.
Retail Conglomerate, PG plc, closed 2.23% lower at €1.75. A total turnover of €8,536 was generated as three deals involving 4,800 shares were executed.
In the corporate debt market, out of 20 active issues, five traded higher while another 10 declined. The 4.25% Mercury Projects Finance plc Secured € 2031 headed the list of gainers with a 4.66% increase to €99.95. On the other hand, the largest decline in price was recorded by the 4% Stivala Group Finance plc Secured € 2027 as it closed at €101.90. This translates into a negative 2.02% change in price.
In the sovereign debt market, 14 issues were active, of which two advanced while the rest lost ground. The worst performer was the 2.2% MGS 2035 (I) as it declined by 2.92% to close at €122.80.
