MSE Daily Trading Report, 10 December, 2019

The MSE Total Return Equity Index enjoyed a positive session as it climbed 0.243% to close at 9,415.927 points. In the equities market, six securities were active, two of which headed south, while another traded lower. An unimpressive turnover of €106,154 was generated over 17 deals during the session.

In the banking industry Bank of Valletta plc posted a gain of 0.98% to close at €1.03. Traded volume amounted to 56,579 shares over nine deals.

Its peer, HSBC Bank Malta plc closed unchanged at €1.18, over a couple of transactions of a combined 3,000 shares.

The only negative mover of the session was International Hotel Investments plc, as it shaved 1.29% off its value, to close at €0.765. A sole deal of 1,018 shares was executed.

Santumas Shareholdings plc also traded just once, however no change in the price of €1.41 was recorded as a result.

Similarly, in the property sector, Plaza Centres plc traded flat at €1.01 over a single transaction of 25,000 shares.

Meanwhile, the best performer of the session was RS2 Software plc, with a 2.88% increase in price to close at €2.14. This was the result of three trades of 6,000 shares.

In the corporate debt market, 16 issues were active, out of which seven traded in positive territory, and five closed lower. The most notable price change was recorded by the 3.75% Mercury Projects Finance plc Secured € 2027 which pushed forward by 3.07%. On the other hand, the 5.9% Together Gaming Solutions plc Unsec Call Bds €2024-2026 posted the worst performance, a 0.3% loss in value.

In the sovereign debt market 13 issues were active, of which four traded higher and six closed lower. The worst performer was the 2.1% MGS 2039 which drifted 2.69% lower to close at €126.50.
