MSE Daily Trading Report, 03 February, 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index lost ground as it closed 0.208% lower at 9,484.466 points. Out of 10 active equities, two headed north while another five closed in the opposite direction. A total turnover of €188,464 over 35 transactions.

In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc registered a 0.93% fall in price, as it ended the session at €1.07. A total turnover of €4,144 was generated as 3,850 shares changed hands over four transactions.

Meanwhile, its peer, HSBC Bank Malta plc, was the most liquid as 10 deals involving 60,169 shares generated a total turnover of €63,780. The price traded higher at €1.08 during the day but closed unchanged at €1.05.

On the other hand, Lombard Bank Malta plc headed the list of gainers as it was up by 4.59%, to close at €2.28. This was the result of two deals with a spread of 2,000 shares. Total turnover amounted to €4,520.

Telecommunications company, GO plc, traded four times over a spread of 2,600 shares. As a result, total turnover stood at €10,813 as price went up to €4.16, translating into a 0.48% increase. Meanwhile, its subsidiary, BMIT Technologies plc, was active but closed unchanged at €0.52.

RS2 Software plc registered a total turnover of €46,459 as two deals involving 19,850 shares were executed. The equity’s previous closing price of €2.34 was not impacted

Two deals involving 32,734 International Hotel Investments plc shares dragged the price by 1.23%, reaching the €0.80 price level. A total turnover of €26,192 was recorded.

Similarly, Malta International Airport plc closed 0.72% lower at €6.85 as 3,000 shares were spread across four transactions. Total turnover stood at €20,554.

Santumas Shareholders plc traded twice on slim volume, ending the session with a 0.71% decline in price to €1.40.

Today, Malta Properties Company plc announced that the board shall meet on February 17, 2020 to consider its audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2019. The board shall also consider the declaration of a final dividend to be recommended to the company’s AGM.

First trade was recorded for Harvest Technology plc as 1,000 shares were executed. This resulted into a 1.33% decline in price, to close at €1.48.

In the corporate debt market, 12 issues were active, of which three advanced while another five traded lower. The 5% Hal Mann Vella Group plc Secured € 2024 registered the largest increase in price of 0.96%, as it closed at €105.00. On the other hand, the 4% SP Finance plc Secured EUR Bonds 2029 closed 0.88% lower at €100.51.

The sovereign debt market enjoyed a positive session as seven out of nine active issues registered gains while the other two closed unchanged. The best performer was the 2.1% MGS 2039 (I) as it closed 0.74% higher at €125.12.

In the prospects MTF market, the 5% Smartcare Finance plc Secured € 2029 traded 0.99% higher at €102.00. The 5.25% Klikk Finance plc € Unsecured 2027 was also active but closed unchanged at par.
