MSE Daily Trading Report, 07 February, 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index ended the session 0.541% higher to end the week’s final session at 9,532.111 points. Out of eight active issues, three headed north while another five closed in the opposite direction. A total turnover of €168,766 was generated across 31 transactions.

In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc shares recouped yesterday’s lost ground as the equity closed 2.9% higher at €1.08. A total of €23,175 was generated by seven transactions

HSBC Bank Malta plc closed in the red as the equity shed 0.95% to finish at €1.04. A total turnover of €95,020 was generated, as 91,063 shares changed hands over 12 transactions.

Malta International Airport plc closed 1.46% higher at €6.95. The equity traded on a slim volume.

RS2 Software plc shares registered an advancement of 2.54% to close at €2.42. A total turnover of €36,398 was generated across four transactions.

MIDI plc shares closed the session 2.1% lower at €0.47. A total turnover of €2,585 was generated between two transactions.

Insurance firm, Mapfre Middlesea plc declined by 0.85% to close at €2.34 as three deals worth €8,185 were executed.

Meanwhile, both PG plc and BMIT Technologies plc closed in negative territory, closing 1% and 1.92% lower at €2.00 and €0.52 respectively.

In the corporate debt market, 24 issues were active, of which nine registered gains while another four lost ground. The 4.5% Hili Properties plc Unsecured € 2025 headed the list of gainers, as it closed 1.47% higher at €103.50.

In the sovereign debt market, out of eight active issues, five closed in the red while two closed higher. The 5.25% MGS 2030 (I) registered the largest decline of 6.13% to close at €150.20.
