MSE Daily Trading Report, 12 February, 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index registered a further decline as it declined by 0.148% to 9,462.010 points. Out of 12 active equities, gainers and losers tallied to three a-piece. Total turnover amounted to €821,518 was generated over 54 transactions.

In the banking industry,HSBC Bank Malta plc, registered a total turnover of €126,140 as 119,000 shares were spread over 13 transactions. As a result, the price advanced by 0.95%, to close at €1.06.

On the other hand, its peer, Bank of Valletta plc, traded six times over a spread of 14,171 shares but closed unchanged at €1.05. The bank registered a total turnover of €14,880.

Similarly, a sole deal of 4,065 FIMBank plc shares did not alter the bank’s previous closing price of $0.58.

A single deal of 14,918 Loqus Holdings plc shares pushed the price 2.67% upwards, ending the session at €0.077. The equity generated a total turnover of €1,149.

Another positive performer, Malta Properties Company plc, was also active over one deal of 1,060 shares, which resulted into a 2.29% increase in price. The equity ended the session at €0.67.

On the other side of the spectrum, Malta International Airport plc was down by 0.72%, as 18,400 shares changed ownership across seven deals. The equity registered a total turnover of €126,960 as it reached the €6.90 price level.

RS2 Software plc lost 1.65% as six deals involving 71,000 shares were executed, dragging the price downwards to €2.38. Total turnover stood at €168,980.

The most liquid equity for the session was GlobalCapital plc as a total turnover of €275,424 was recorded. The equity closed 3.33% lower at €0.29 as 920,700 shares changed hands over eight transactions.

Telecommunications company, GO plc, was active over three deals involving 21,060 shares. The equity closed unchanged at €4.12 while total turnover stood at €86,767. Similarly, its subsidiary, BMIT Technologies plc, traded once over 5,300 shares, worth €2,703. The equity’s previous closing price of €0.51 was not impacted.

Four deals involving 4,991 PG plc shares did not alter the equity’s price of €2.00. A total turnover of €9,918 was generated.

Grand Harbour Marina plc was also active as three deals with a mix of 10,454 shares were executed. The equity closed unchanged at €0.55 and registered a total turnover of €5,725.

In the corporate debt market, 18 issues were active, of which seven headed north while another four closed in the opposite direction. The 3.75% Mercury Projects Finance plc Secured € 2027 headed the list of gainers with a 0.49% increase, to close at €101.49. On the other hand, the 4.4% Von der Heyden Group Finance plc Unsecured € 2024 closed 1.23% lower at €100.50.

In the sovereign debt market, out of 14 active issues, five advanced while another eight lost ground. The 3.3% MGS 2024 (I) registered the best performance as it closed 0.20% higher at €116.24. Conversely, the 4.1% MGS 2034 (I) traded 0.26% lower, ending the session at €149.14.

In the prospects MTF market, 5.25% Klikk Finance plc € Unsecured 2027 and 5% Borgo Lifestyle Finance plc Secured Callable 2026-2029 were active. Both issues closed unchanged at €100.00 and €101.00, respectively.
