MSE Daily Trading Report, 09 April, 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index ended the session in positive territory as it closed 0.788% higher at 7,774.899 points. Seven equities were active, of which only two increased. A total turnover of €53,011 was spread across 26 deals.

Bank of Valletta plc was recorded the best performance today – gaining 5.88% to end the session at €0.90.  The bank traded seven times over a mix of 6,754 shares, worth €5,871.

Another positive performer was Malita Investments plc as it registered a 3.9% increase, to close at €0.80. Two deals involving 2,625 shares were executed, generating a total turnover of €2,100.

Malta International Airport plc was the most liquid with a total turnover of €14,179. A total of 2,939 shares were spread over seven deals, leaving no impact on the equity’s previous closing price of €4.80.

IT services provider, RS2 Software plc, traded four times over 5,100 shares but closed unchanged at €1.92. Similarly, BMIT Technologies plc traded flat at €0.49. The equity executed two deals involving 14,000 shares.

A sole deal of 15,540 Malta Properties Company plc did not alter the equity’s previous closing price of €0.49. A total turnover of €7,615 was recorded.

PG plc was also active but closed unchanged at €1.69. A total turnover of €6,975 was generated as three deals involving 4,127 shares were executed.

In the Sovereign Debt market, eight issues were active, of which four headed north while three closed in the opposite direction. The best performer was the 3% MGS 2040 (I) as it closed 3.57% higher at €145.00. Conversely, the 4.8% MGS 2028 (I) lost 0.34%, ending the session at €135.81.

In the Corporate Debt market, out of 23 active issues, four advanced while another 13 lost ground. The 4.15% Phoenicia Finance Company plc Unsecured € 2023-2028 headed the list of gainers with a 2.08% rise, as it closed at €98.00. On the other hand, the 5% Dizz Finance plc Unsecured € 2026 closed 5% lower at €95.00.

In the Prospects MTF market the 5.75% Pharmacare Finance plc Unsecured EUR Bonds 2025-2028 was active as it that traded flat at €0.98.
