MSE Daily Trading Report, 25 June 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index registered a further 0.212% increase as it reached 8,321.98 points. Five equities were active, of which two advances while the rest closed unchanged. A total turnover of €74.397 was generated across 20 transactions.

Telecommunications company, GO plc, enjoyed a positive session with a 0.61% change in price, as it closed at €3.32. During the session, the equity also reached a high price of €3.50 and registered the highest liquidity with a total turnover of €46,526. This was the result of 14,053 shares spread across eight transactions.

The top performer was International Hotel Investments plc as it was up by 1.71%, ending the session at €0.595. Three deals involving 10,480 shares were executed, worth €6,236.

A sole deal of 8,661 Bank of Valletta plc shares did not alter the bank’s previous closing price of €1.02. A total turnover of €8,834 was recorded.

Malta International Airport plc reached an intra-day low price of €5.65 but managed to recoup the loss as it closed unchanged at €5.80. A total of 2,000 shares changed hands over six deals, generating a total turnover of €11,485.

Two transactions involving a mix of 570 RS2 Software plc shares did not impact the equity’s previous closing price of €2.40.

In the Sovereign Debt market, 14 issues were active, of which three headed north while another eight closed in the opposite direction. The 3% MGS 2040 (I) registered the best performance with a 1.47% movement in price, ending the session at €138.00. On the other hand, the 4.8% MGS 2028 (I) declined by 4.89%, to close at €134.10.

In the Corporate Debt market, out of 23 active issues, gainers and losers tallied to nine a-piece. The 6% Medserv plc Sec. & Grntd €  Notes 2020-2023 S1 T1 was the best performer as it closed 1.43% higher at €99.40. Conversely, the 6% International Hotel Investments plc € 2024 lost 2.76%, to close at €102.10.

In the Prospects MTF market, right issues were active, of which six registered gains while one closed in the red. The 5.75% Pharmacare Finance plc Unsecured EUR Bonds 2025-2028 headed the list of gainers as it closed 1% higher at €101.00.
