MSE Index declines by a further 0.2%

MSE Daily Trading Report, 02 July 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index registered a further 0.212% decline as it reached 8,306.078 points. Seven equities were active, of which gainers and losers tallied to two-a-piece. A total turnover of €37,107 was generated across 10 transactions.

In the banking industry, Bank of Valletta plc traded 1.5% higher as 9,365 shares were spread across two transactions. A total turnover of €9,445 was generated as the equity reached the €1.015 price level.

Its peer, HSBC Bank Malta plc was active but closed unchanged at €0.96. Two deals involving 10,000 shares were executed, worth €9,600.

A sole deal of 350 Simonds Farsons Cisk plc shares resulted into a positive 1.27% change in price, as it closed at €8.00. Total turnover stood at €2,800.

On the other side of the spectrum, Mapfre Middlesea plc lost 9.09% over a sole deal of 677 shares. The equity ended the session at €2.00 and total turnover amounted to €1,354.

BMIT Technologies plc announced the resolutions presented for consideration at the second Annual General Meeting which is scheduled to be held on July 27, 2020. The annual report and financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2019 shall be approved. The board shall also approve the payment of a net dividend of €0.02157 per share (net of tax) to all shareholders on the register as at April 29, 2020. The payment of this net dividend amounts to the sum of €4.39 million.

The equity traded once over 20,000 shares, worth €9,600. The equity closed 2.04% lower at €0.48.

Telecommunications company, GO plc also announced its agenda for the 22nd Annual General Meeting to be held on July 28, 2020. The annual report and financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2019 shall be approved. The board shall also approve the payment of a net dividend of €0.10 per share (net of tax) to all shareholders on the register as at April 30, 2020. The payment of this net dividend amounts to the sum of €10.1 million.

Two deals involving 689 Malta International Airport plc shares did not alter the equity’s previous closing price of €5.80. A total turnover of €3,996 was recorded.

Similarly, PG plc closed unchanged at €1.95 over one transaction of 160 shares.

In the Corporate Debt market, 19 issues were active, of which six headed north while another eight closed in the opposite direction. The 3.75% Tumas Investments plc Unsecured € 2027 headed the list of gainers as it closed 2.36% higher at €103.90. On the other hand, the 4.35% Hudson Malta plc Unsecured € 2026 lost 2.44%, reaching its par value.

In the Sovereign Bond market, out of 10 active issues, two registered gains while another six closed in the red. The 5.25% MGS 2030 (I) ended the session 0.09% higher at €143.13. Conversely, the 5.2% MGS 2031 (I) declined by 0.27%, to close at €146.27.

In the Prospects MTF market, the 5% The Convenience Shop Holding plc Unsec Call € 2026-2029 was the most liquid as total turnover amounted to €15,050.
