MSE Index gains ground

MSE Daily Trading Report, 14 July 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index  managed to recoup as it reached 8,184.893 points, translating into a positive 0.558% change. Six equities were active, of which three registered gains while the remaining closed unchanged. A total turnover of €72,642 was generated across 14 transactions.

Bank of Valletta plc traded twice over 3,000 shares, worth €3,000. The equity’s price was up by 2.04%, reaching the €1.00 price level.

Telecommunications company, GO plc, headed the list of gainers as it recorded a 3.03% movement in price, ending the session at €3.40. Five deals involving 7,300 shares were executed, generating a total turnover of €24,850.

The highest liquidity was registered by Simonds Farsosn Cisk plc with a total turnover of €31,776. A total of 3,972 shares were spread across two transactions, leaving no impact on the previous closing price of €8.00.

International Hotel Investments plc ended the session unchanged at €0.57. A single transactions of 1,000 shares generated a slim turnover.

In the property sector, two equities were active. A sole deal of 1,100 Malta Properties Company plc shares pushed the price 0.9% higher to €0.56. Meanwhile, Malita Investments plc was active but closed unchanged at €0.91. Three deals involving 13,000 shares were executed, worth €11,830.

In the Corporate Debt market, nine issues were active, of which two headed north while another three closed in the opposite direction. Both the 4% MIDI plc Secured € 2026 and the 3.9% Plaza Centres plc Unsecured € 2026 closed 0.5% higher at €101.00 and €100.50, respectively. Conversely, the 4.25% Best Deal Properties Holding plc Secured € 2024 closed 1.96% lower, reaching its par value.

In the Sovereign Bond market, out of eight active issues, five advanced while another two traded lower. The 2.4% MGS 2041 (I) registered the best performance with a 3.85% movement in price, to close at €135.00. On the other hand, the 4.8% MGS 2028 (I) lost 1.08%, ending the session at €134.53.

In the Prospects MTF market, the 5% Luxury Living Finance plc € Secured Bonds 2028 was active as it traded 0.01% lower at €99.98.
