BOV and MIA shares close in opposite direction

MSE Daily Trading Report, 24 July 2020

The MSE Equity Total Return Index remained relatively flat to finish the last session of the week at 8,065.408 points. A total of five equities were active of which three gained ground, while Malta International Airport plc (MIA) was the only equity that declined. A total turnover of €125,000 was generated between 18 transactions.

MIA shares declined by 2.7% to close the session at €5.50 after trading at a daily high of €5.60. A total of 1,810 shares exchanged hands over three deals.

Bank of Valletta plc advanced by 1% to end the week at €0.97. A total of 26,500 shares exchanged hands over four trades.

On the other hand, two deals over a slim volume in Plaza Centre plc saw the share price move up by 6.6% to close the session at €0.975.

Similarly, retail-conglomerate PG plc closed the session 2% higher at €1.94. A total turnover of €30,168 was generated over five deals.

Elsewhere, RS2 Software plc generated the largest turnover during the session as four trades managed to generate a total turnover of €57,863.52. The equity closed flat €2.34

In the Corporate Debt market, 18 issues were active, of which seven gained ground, while three headed south.  The 5.8% International Hotel Investments plc 2023 registered the largest advancement of 2%. The bond finished the week at €102.

In the Sovereign Bond market, out of five active issues, three declined, while one gained ground. The 5.2% MGS 2031 (I) was the only bond which registered a gain, as if recorded a 1.34% gain to close at €150. The long-dated 2.4% MGS 2041 shed nearly 2%.

In the Prospects MTF market, eight issues were active, of which two headed north while another three lost ground. The 5% Luxury Living Finance plc € Secured Bonds 2028 headed the list of gainers as it closed 2.54% higher at €99.98.
