Major banks drag MSE Index lower

- The best performers were Mapfre Middlesea plc (+4.9%) and Malta Properties Company plc (+3.7%).
- The worst performers were MaltaPost plc (-12.1%), HSBC Bank Malta plc (-3.5%) and Bank of Valletta plc (-1.1%).
- Malta Properties Company plc was the most liquid as total turnover stood at €128,380. This was the result of eight deals involving 255,760 shares.
- Malta International Airport plc announced its full year traffic results for 2020.
- A 76.1% drop was recorded over 2019, equivalent to 1,748,050 passenger movements.
- This is the lowest traffic result to be reported by the airport since the company assumed management of the air terminal in 2002, when full-year traffic amounted to 2.6 million passenger movements.
- Traffic for December 2020 stood at just 10% of what was reported in the previous year’s month, as 46,475 passenger movement was recorded.
- Given that the first quarter of 2021 is expected to be as challenging as 2020, Malta International
Airport remains committed to work actively towards the preservation of the company’s liquidity
through any cost-cutting measures deemed necessary. - The company’s Board of Directors is scheduled to meet on the February 24, 2021, to conduct an
