MSE Trading Report for Week ending 14 August 2026
| Movement in Equity and Bond Indices: |
The MSE Equity Total Return Index ended the week in positive territory, closing 0.4% higher at 10,146.616 points and is up by 14% since the beginning of the year. A total of 22 issues were active, seven of which headed north while another nine closed in the opposite direction. The weekly total turnover reached €0.9m across 179 transactions.
The MSE Corporate Bonds Total Return Index registered a 0.1% decrease, as it closed at 1,167.631 points. A total of 74 issues were active, 25 of which traded higher while another 28 lost ground. The 3.65% Stivala Group Finance plc Secured 2029 was the best performer, as it closed 2.1% higher at €99.64. On the other hand, the 4.5% The Ona plc Secured 2028-2034 ended the week 3.5% lower at €95.
The MSE MGS Total Return Index also fell marginally by 0.1%, as it reached 971.579 points. Out of 24 active issues, 15 advanced while another six closed in the red. The 4.1% MGS 2041 headed the list of gainers, as it closed at €100.50, equivalent to a positive 1.1% change. Conversely, the 3.25% MGS 2034 closed 2.8% lower at €97.20.

Bank of Valletta plc edged 0.5% higher to close at €2.17, trading within a range of €2.14 and €2.19 throughout the period. A combination of 128,303 shares were exchanged across 29 deals, translating into a total trading value of €276,421. Year-to-date the banking equity is up by 14.8%.
HSBC Bank Malta plc closed the week unchanged at €1.46, trading within a range of €1.43 and €1.46 across 11 transactions. A total of 48,051 shares changed hands, with total trading value amounting to €69,786.
APS Bank plc (APS) edged 1.7% lower to close at €0.58, moving within a tight range of €0.58 to €0.59. Eleven deals covered 63,779 shares, with total consideration amounting to €37,371. Since the beginning of the year APS is up 19.3%.
FIMBank plc was the week’s standout performer, surging 31.3% to close at its weekly high of $0.21. A total of 10 transactions were recorded as 323,338 shares changed hands, with total trading value reaching $60,639.
Malta International Airport plc (MIA) closed at a price level €6.50, it’s highest since 2021. The equity advanced 2.4%, as 20,318 shares changed hands across 25 transactions, worth €129,696.
In the communications sector, GO plc slipped to €2.50, translating to a 1.6% decline. A total of 13,290 shares were exchanged across 13 transactions, amounting to €33,726 in turnover.
PG plc posted a modest gain for the second consecutive week, rising 1.9% and closing the week at €1.59. Trading volume reached 123,360 shares across 11 deals, generating €196,259 in total value, with the equity trading narrowly between €1.58 and €1.60.
The Convenience Shop Holding plc was the week’s sharpest decliner, retreating to €0.65. This translated to a 26.1% decline after touching a weekly high of €0.88. During the period, 16 deals accounted for 34,088 shares exchanged, worth €23,451.
Quinco Holdings plc retreated following three stagnant weeks. The equity lost 9.1% to close at €0.80, having peaked at €0.85 earlier in the period. A total of five transactions, worth €10,783 were spread across 13,469 shares.
International Hotel Investments plc also shed 1.7% to close at a price level of €0.58. The equity witnessed just five transactions covering 3,244 shares and €1,838 in value.

MIA announced that in the month of July passenger traffic reached 1,187,590, up 14.7% year-on-year, with a strong 87.6% seat load factor despite a 17.4% increase in capacity. Italy overtook the UK as the top market for the first time since February, and Poland, Malta’s strongest Eastern European market, grew passenger numbers by almost 50%.
MedservRegis plc announced two new contract awards: a two-year logistics and support services contract in Mozambique, and a pilot Vendor Managed Inventory project in Saudi Arabia, the latter seen as a potential entry point into a larger scope of work. Separately, the Group flagged that the Strait of Hormuz disruption has hit Iraq’s oil exports and reduced activity in its Iraqi operations since the start of Q3 2026, though management calls this temporary and has implemented cost containment measures. On the positive side, the Group’s main Iraqi machine shop contract has been extended and a new three-year machine shop contract secured.
Main Street Complex plc announced the H1 2026 results. Year-on-year revenue fell 61% to €131k, down from €339k in the same period last year This was driven by the expiry of most tenant leases in March 2026 ahead of the Complex’s ongoing renovation and refurbishment programme, which began in April. The Company swung to a loss before tax of €41k for the period, against a €141k profit in H1 2025. No dividend was declared for FY2025, and the Board has confirmed none will be paid for FY2026 either, as cash reserves and bank facilities are being directed toward the €880k renovation cost. Management remains confident the revamp, together with the opening of Little Greens, will reposition the Complex for long-term growth once new tenants are onboarded.
The Board of MIDI plc will meet on August 25, 2026, to consider and approve the Company’s interim unaudited financial statements for the six-month period ended June 30, 2026.
Computime Holdings plc’s Board will meet on August 18, 2026, to approve the interim financial statements for H1 2026 and to consider declaration of an interim dividend for the financial year ending December 31, 2026.
Santumas Shareholdings plc has its AGM confirmed for October 23, 2026.
